| How do you work at events? |
| The popular
choice is where I am a focal point of entertainment at your event working
quickly while standing at an easel, drawing onto good quality 'A3 size
card stock using a variety of black markers and colours'. Guest come
to me to be drawn and I am set up in such way as to allow onlookers to
watch the picture develop, allowing them to enjoy another element of the
entertainment. I frequently draw couples at weddings but generally avoid groups as they are time consuming and can soon eat up valuable time for drawing the other guests. I can also mix and mingle with guests using a 'A4 clipboard loaded with card stock and black and grey markers'. |
| Do you draw full body or just head and shoulders? |
| Generally speaking I draw just 'Head and Shoulders', particularly when I have a queue of customers waiting to be drawn. However if time permits or the client has specifically requested it, I can add bodies it is usually a small body depicting the customers job or hobby. |
| Do the guests have to pay to be drawn? |
| In a word no, you as the client pay me an agreed fee for a set period of time during which I draw as many good quality caricatures. as I can. |
| How many caricatures can you draw an hour? |
| I cannot gaurantee an exact amount as certain factors can affect output such as lighting and space, but an estimate of '12-15 per caricatures per hour' would not be far off target |
| How long can I book you for? |
| The most
common is a 2 hour performance as this tends to fill the lull between
the end of the church ceremony and the start of the wedding breakfast
when photos are being taken and many of the guests are hanging around
waiting for something to happen. I can comfortably work for 3 hours or possibly longer but this would have to be discussed and agreed prior to booking. |
| How much do you charge? |
| Location of event, length of booking and special requests make each job is different so it is easier to discuss your personal requirements either by telephone or email and present you with a personal quote. |
| What if we want you stay longer than originally booked? |
| I make sure
to bring the entertainment to a natural conclusion, often queues form
and I endeavour to give sufficient notice to the guests in the queue exactly
which person will be be my last drawing. I have to be strict on this in
the interest of professionalism and fairplay. If you would like me to continue for longer than booked then this can be agreed on the day. I will generally offer to do an extra set period of up to1 hour or part thereof which is payable on the day. |
| Do we have to feed you? |
| An odd but very common question. The short answer is no I am there to draw and entertain you. I arrive fully fuelled up and only take on drinks as needed. |
